The construction of the new Knauf Insulation production facility in Târnăveni was started in early 2023 and was completed as planned in the spring of this year. After the completion of the actual construction stage, the processes of equipping and equipping the mineral glass wool factory with the latest generation technologies, to Knauf Insulation standards, were also implemented. Thus, the new factory will be ready for production by the end of 2024, with the objective of ensuring an annual production of approximately 75,000 tons of mineral wool, which will serve both domestic needs and the other Knauf Insulation markets in the region.
“The detailed planning of the construction process of our mineral glass wool factory in Tarnăveni significantly facilitated its coordination. Our team understood that careful monitoring of construction work stages is essential to the successful completion of the project, and the technology and production preparation phases benefited from the same effective planning. Thus, in the second half of the year, we are inaugurating the new Knauf Insulation unit in Romania. It is a remarkable success of the team, which will turn Târnăveni into a key location on the map of the international production of mineral glass wool,” said Adrian Garofeanu, General Manager of Knauf Insulation Romania and Bulgaria.
The Knauf Insulation factory in Târnăveni meets the strictest environmental protection standards. The facility has the most advanced technologies available, in terms of air filters, and all the implemented technologies are subject to control, respectively approved by approved institutions in the field of environmental protection, according to the companies’ representatives.
